Hotel Almenum, the ultimate city lodge of Harlingen, is located in the old center at the foot of the old ‘Dom van Almenum’. In the quiet of the atmospheric Harnzerhof, but still just 100m away from the sociable Harlinger Hoofdstraat.
Hotel Almenum is one of over 500 beautiful monuments in the city. What used to be a bag factory and 4 workers cottages, are currently the front desk, luxurious hotel apartments, comfortable hotel rooms and a number of budget rooms. The old ‘boomsluitershuisje’ (tree shutter house) has been converted into a breakfast room / livingroom restaurant.
The exterior of the buildings has been restored with great care, due to which they have retained their special character and authentic details. As soon as you’ll walk into the courtyard you’ll feel like your living in an era long gone.

About 100 meters away from the buzz of the center of Harlingen, you’ll find the courtyard of the hotel to be a true oasis of quiet. The attractive garden is enclosed by the monumental buildings of the hotel on three sides. This makes the garden wonderfully sheltered, allowing you to get lost in the feeling of yesteryear. In the garden, you’ll also find a terrace with seats, a wonderful place to be on a beautiful day, with a newspaper, a good book, or maybe even with nothing at all on your mind!
Practical Information
At Hotel Almenum we have a reception with limited opening hours. You can check in between 15:00 and 18:00, or later by arrangement - on the day of departure you can check out before 10:00. Furthermore, our hotel does not have its own parking. For a fee, you can park in the public car parks in the vicinity of the hotel.
The hotel has an adapted flat for disabled guests, if desired with care facilities. We also have a room for you if you suffer from allergy. Furthermore, pets are allowed; maximum 2 pets per flat.
